The lodge sleeps six and is situated at Puck's Glen on the Cowal Peninsula of Argyll between Loch Eck and the Holy Loch, six miles north of Dunoon. It is set in a small group of privately owned log cabins collectively known as Lamont Lodges.

Ard Darach is Gaelic for Great Oak and it is from an adjacent large mature tree that the lodge takes its name. The tree dominates the view from the lounge window and it is a haven for songbirds by day, owls at night and is regularly frequented by red squirrels.

Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park it is a superb location to enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, mountain biking, fishing, Munro bagging and watching wildlife. It is also an ideal base to explore the towns, landscapes and history of Argyll.                     For stargazers the dark night skies are amazing and a torch is a good idea for evening / night time walks.
